More pets get lost on the July 4th than any other day of the year! Here are some tips from the Humane Society of the United States to help keep your pets safe:

– Keep your pets safely away from fireworks. Bring your pets indoors preferably with the TV or radio on to help with the noise of fireworks.

– If your pet is scared by fireworks, ask a veterinarian for help. There are medications and techniques that can help your pets through this stressful time for them.

– Safeguard your pet with a collar and ID tag. In the event that your pet does go missing identification will help reunite them faster. Microchips are also a great form of identification!

-If you lose or find a pet please contact the shelter as soon as possible! We may have a report for the lost or found pet and will assist you and reuniting pets with their families!
